One-on-One Training in Experiential Shamanism

This private apprenticeship offers individualized training for those who feel called to learn shamanic practice and healing. I have practiced shamanic healing since 2018 and am trained in both the Pachakuti Mesa Tradition and Core Shamanism, along with additional shamanic healing methods I have studied and incorporated throughout the years. My own practice has evolved through experience and through my relationships with my helping spirits, and this apprenticeship reflects that same approach to learning.

Rather than training a group of students to reproduce the same techniques in exactly the same way, I work with one apprentice at a time, allowing the training to develop around your individual experiences, abilities, helping spirits and spiritual path.

My approach to teaching is what I call Experiential Shamanism.

What Is Experiential Shamanism?

Experiential Shamanism emphasizes learning through direct spiritual experience, not just memorizing a set series of steps.

This isn't a new idea. In many shamanic traditions, knowledge was passed on through a combination of mentorship from an experienced practitioner and direct teaching from helping spirits, dreams, visions, and personal spiritual experience. Apprentices didn't simply copy their teacher's methods. They developed their abilities through their own relationships with the spirit world.

My approach draws on this long-standing model of learning.

As your earthly teacher, I'll give you the foundations of shamanic practice and healing: what each healing method is, its purpose, when it may be appropriate, the ethical considerations, and the key principles involved. You'll also experience many of these healings yourself and see how I approach the work.

But I don't want to teach you to become a copy of me.

Throughout the apprenticeship, you'll build relationships with your own helping spirits and learn to ask them how shamanic healing should unfold through you. You'll journey to them for instruction and let your own ways of working develop through direct experience.

My role is to provide the foundation, experience, and mentorship, and to help you develop the confidence and discernment to build an authentic shamanic practice of your own.

Foundations of Shamanic Practice

Your apprenticeship begins with an extended Sunday intensive that lays the foundation for everything that follows.

You'll learn how to enter a shamanic state of consciousness and journey to the Lower, Middle, and Upper Worlds, where you'll begin meeting and building relationships with your helping spirits.

We'll explore the Five Principles of Shamanism, the role of helping spirits, how to ask for and receive spiritual guidance, and how to recognize and trust your own experiences.

From there, our weekly work becomes more and more experiential as you learn, journey, practice, and discover how your helping spirits work with you.

Shamanic Healing Methods

Over the course of the apprenticeship, you'll learn the foundations and principles of a range of shamanic healing practices, including:

• Power Animal Retrieval
• Divination
• Extraction Healing
• Cord Cutting
• Soul Retrieval
• Drumming & Rattling
• Energy Clearing
• Clearing Harmful Spiritual Influences
• Spirit Releasement
• Psychopomp and Working with Spirits of the Deceased

These practices aren't taught as rigid formulas that every practitioner must perform the same way.

For each one, you'll learn what it's meant to accomplish, the important considerations involved, and how I personally approach it. You'll also receive many of these healings yourself.

Then you'll journey to your own helping spirits for instruction and guidance, allowing your individual way of doing the work to take shape through direct experience.

Building Your Personal Medicine Practice

Shamanic practice goes beyond individual healing techniques. During your apprenticeship, you'll gradually gather the physical and spiritual tools that become part of your own practice.

You'll create a personal medicine bag filled with objects that hold meaning and power for you. Over time, you'll also begin collecting medicine pieces to use in healing sessions.

You'll learn how to create and work with a shamanic altar honoring the directions and elements, and begin gathering the objects for your own altar.

Depending on the season and our schedule, some of the apprenticeship may take place outdoors, so we can bring direct relationship with nature and the land into the work.

Vision Quest & Personal Spiritual Development

This apprenticeship isn't only about learning to perform healing sessions for others. Your own spiritual development is an essential part of becoming a practitioner.

During the program, you may undertake a personal vision quest to deepen your spiritual connection, seek guidance on an important question, or receive insight into your own path.

You'll also have practices and journeys to complete between meetings. Because we meet regularly, you can bring your experiences back to me, ask questions, work through difficulties, and keep building on what you learned the week before.

Ethics & Developing Your Practice

Knowing how to perform a healing technique is only one part of being a responsible practitioner.

We'll discuss the ethics of shamanic healing, including appropriate boundaries, client consent, confidentiality, what to share (and not share) with a client about your journey experiences, and how to talk about spiritual experiences without presenting interpretations as established fact.

You'll also learn how to start and grow your own shamanic healing practice, and how to work with clients while maintaining your own spiritual and energetic boundaries.

Your Final Healing Practicum

Near the end of the apprenticeship, you'll bring everything together by performing a complete, supervised shamanic healing session for a real client.

Whenever possible, this session is offered free of charge to someone who genuinely wants shamanic healing but might not otherwise be able to afford it.

This isn't a demonstration of a memorized technique. You'll approach the session as a practitioner: connecting with your helping spirits, determining what work is appropriate within the spiritual framework you've learned, and conducting the healing using the methods you've developed throughout your apprenticeship.

I'll be there to supervise and support you, and we'll follow the session with a private review and discussion.

Private One-on-One Training

This apprenticeship is intentionally offered to one student at a time.

Private training lets me mentor you individually instead of teaching to the needs of a whole group. We can discuss your journeys in depth, spend extra time wherever you need it, and let your training evolve in response to your experiences and your relationships with your helping spirits.

There's no need to wait for a class or group to form. When I accept you as an apprentice, your training is yours.

Schedule & Tuition

The apprenticeship begins and concludes with full-day Sunday intensives, generally held from 10:30 AM–5:30 PM.

The sessions between these intensives are private weekday evening meetings, preferably on Tuesday or Wednesday from approximately 6:00–9:00 PM. Because this is one-on-one training, we will work together to establish the schedule before your apprenticeship begins. The goal is to complete the training in 12 weeks total. 

Full Sunday Intensive: $333
3-Hour Weekday Session: $177

Tentative Schedule:
- First Class: Full 7 hour day Sunday
- 8 weeks meeting for 3 hours each week
- Last Class: Full 7 hour day Sunday

Enrollment & Payment

Because this is a private one-on-one apprenticeship, prospective students must first submit a brief application. You'll be asked to tell me a little about yourself, your interest in shamanism, and why you feel called to this work.

I personally review each application to make sure the apprenticeship appears to be a good fit for both of us. Please do not submit payment when applying.

If your application is accepted, I will contact you with the next steps and payment information. Payment of $333 for the opening Sunday intensive officially enrolls you and reserves your apprenticeship.

Payment may be made through my website, Venmo, Cash App or PayPal. Cash is also accepted for local students who are able to meet with me prior to the first class date.

Is This Apprenticeship Right for You?

This training asks for dedication, curiosity, and a willingness to engage in your own spiritual development.

You don't need to arrive already knowing how to journey or perform shamanic healing. You do need to practice between meetings, attend your scheduled sessions, approach the work responsibly, and be willing to build a direct relationship with your helping spirits instead of relying on your teacher for every answer.

The purpose of this apprenticeship isn't to teach you to practice shamanism exactly as I do.

It's to give you the foundation, mentorship, and experience to discover the practitioner you're meant to become.
